I have lived in New Mexico for more than 30 years. My husband, David, and I have called Albuquerque home most of that time, raising our four children here. My husband recently retired and life is centered around family, friends, our two cats Zoe and Willie, and occasional trips around the Land of Enchantment.
A few years ago we made the move to Rio Rancho, where we now live on the mesa overlooking the valley of the Rio Grande. I paint the Southwest landscape in the beautiful colors I see every morning from my back porch. New Mexico’s big skies and mountains feed my soul and are the inspiration for my work. My paintings are contemporary expressions of my love for the land, the history and the people of New Mexico.
In addition to painting, I also enjoy making photomontages of city lights, Rt. 66 history and old Albuquerque architecture. Most of my montages are nighttime shots. It has been a kick in the pants to meet and talk with so many people in downtown Albuquerque. Everyone I have met has been friendly…and more than willing to pose!! The process of putting a montage together is full of surprises…and to be able to record a little history in my hometown in this manner is very exciting!
